I'M SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW I CAN'T EVEN-

IT'S DONE. FINISHED. COMPLETE. <'3
and I'm so freaking happy with the result! This whole thing took more or less than 3 weeks to work on.

this pic has killed me- turned my brain to mush. BUT it was worth every bit of it. _{this is gonna look SO good on my portfolio xD} I'm actually really surprised I finished a piece like this without giving up OR keeping the background in as high a quality as it is. I used nearly 50 visible layers for this piece (not counting the individual layers for each parts of the characters. I merged those layers together after I finished their shading.) The majority of the layers were for different parts of the background. It helps me add more detail to each individual structure.

Plus, to keep myself in the mood, I listened to Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando ost the entire time. I've been having dreams guys. Legitimate dreams of this game right now.

And now for the official description of "Waiting in Metropolis"
Obviously, by the title, this piece is based off of the city Metropolis on the planet Kerwan (Seen in Ratchet and Clank, Up Your Arsenal and Tools of Destruction). The weapons that they are using are actual weapons from the game Going Commando: the Lancer and the Seeker Gun. That was a lot of fun to make! I never really expected this piece to be as detailed as it is, I had to resize the width to get as much detail in the background as I could! Ultimately it was a good decision.

What they're doing in Metropolis and why they're hiding from a Blargian enemy.... is up to you! I honestly don't really know myself, but I have my own theories as to why. I would like to hear yours! Actually, the Lombax on the left should look familiar to you...

That's right, it's Alexis! My little Lombax version of me. The one on the right it a version of my friend, Alyssa (Who I recently discovered is a fan of R&C as well! I HAVE A KINDRED SPIRIT <'3). Their personalities are shown through their facial expressions owo Alyssa would totally be all like "Girl please, lighten up here." and I'd be all "Shut up! It can hear us!" Me and Alyssa have this unusual relationship xD

Actually, side-note here, she invited me to her prom! ME. THE HOMESCHOOLER. no idea what to expect. But she'll fill me in, I'm sure. I'll be looking for a dress this weekend! 8D

ANYWAY THAT'S PRETTY MUCH IT. DON'T WANNA WAIST YOUR TIME WITH NONSENSE.

If there is something I can already commend about this piece it's the technique. The lighting and rendering is fantastic. There is so much depth and perspective that I really do admire here. It truly shows time and dedication went into this. I can see why it took a while to complete because it involved planning. The artist truly was planning on where to cast the lights, how deep in the shadows the characters were and how the colors compliment off one another. I also love the stylization of the characters. They show a lot of personality and physical prowess just by their structure alone. The arms and hands in particular are well designed.
Perhaps the one criticism is the ambiguity of the content. What are these two girls sneaking behind the corner for? What awaits them on the other side? It's hard to make out. And without the artist description and lack of any particular threat (at least none that I know of) I'm not exactly sure what these two are looking for. Their expressions are conflicting as well. The one with her back against the wall sense danger and is ready for action. The other seems more happy and more at ease. Not exactly sure what I should be feeling for in this situation.
But it is a very well done piece and I hope to see the artist continue more with it. The style is good and the rendering is top notch. Keep at it.

Ok, I know as lot of people will have said it, but I'll repeat it.
This is beyond amazing.
You have serious skills bro,

You can add amazing details into character design and BGs <4
The floor itself is beyond words, like it looks so professional and amazing *w*
Great shading as always <4
But, if you look on Alexis' right arm, her arm looks a little shaky, like jelly D: Try getting smoother lines for your lineart, xD;;}

truly awesome. i wouldn;t be surprised if this picture were to inspire someone to make another Ratchet and clank game some day along an alternate plot and story-line.
